Here at Star Rock Ministries we truly see and value the Imago Dei in each and every child and youth we serve!
While “diversity" is one of our core values, it is really more than that. This core value is rooted in the fact that every person is created in the image of God and is precious to Him! In everything we do as a board and staff, we work to care for and value the dignity and beauty of each and every student that is a part of our camps.
So much thoughtful design goes into working alongside our partnership organizations and camps to work in tandem in order to practice the power of shared leadership and the unique insights that each person brings as they co-shepherd these youth together. That is, the camp staff rub off on our urban leaders and visa versa and each are made better through the shared experience. Additionally, there are hours of planning and preparation by our executive staff and ministry leaders, months in advance, in order to shape the program so that this core value is lived out and experienced by our children and youth while at camp. As a result, our urban and military youth see a picture of what it looks like to be a part of God’s multi-ethnic family, where all of His children have a seat at His table!
We believe that youth get to experience a “slice of heaven”, this side of Eternity, as they play, laugh, share new experiences, worship, learn, etc…TOGETHER, in this diverse and beautiful community.
